Promises

13(A)All these died in faith, (B)without receiving the promises, but (C)having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and (D)having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

Hebrews 11:13

the author of the book of Hebrews wanted to stress what faith involves and what it really is. It's trusting in His promises even if He withholds it from our view in the temporary world. Greater faith to even relinquish the lesser promises for the greater promises.

What's the promises I'm holding onto? What's strengthening my faith if I don't seek out His promises? Could it be that my faith is skin deep and that I lack true intimacy? If someone were to ask me what promises I'm holding on to it would be the generic (still great). I need to seek out specific prayer for my marriage, health, family, relationships, ministry... all areas and dwell there, awaiting His guidance and promises.
